Michael Kabotie (1942-2009) is the son of famed artist Fred Kabotie. Michael, like his father, was a Hopi silversmith, sculptor and painter.
Michael developed a distinctive style in his jewelry during his time at the University of Arizona. He studied among the greatest jewelers of this time period including, Joe Herrera, Charles Loloma, and Fritz Scholder. His overlay techniques have come to embody high quality silverwork. He is best known for his painting and has exhibited his work nationwide. Michael has lectured about art and writing all over the world while working as an artist for over 50 years until his death in 2009.
